Coverage for Le Monde on the historic trial of Mario Sandoval, former police officer during the military dictatorship in Argentina from 1976-1983. Federal Oral Court number 5 of the City of Buenos Aires sentenced retired Federal Police inspector Mario Sandoval to 15 years in prison for being co-author of the kidnapping and torture suffered by Hernán Abriata, an architecture student of the UBA and militant of the Peronist University Youth who was kidnapped at the end of October 1976 and who has been missing since then. The prosecution had requested sentences ranging from 20 years of imprisonment to life imprisonment.
